Knee prosthesis is often the only solution to get rid of the constant pain in the knee and the resulting significant limitation of mobility caused by advanced degenerative changes. These changes arise as a result of past injuries, many years of overload, disorders of the limb axis or rheumatic diseases. The procedure consists of a sparing but complete resection of the articular surfaces of the affected knee and their replacement with an endoprosthesis. This operation is completely safe, because the artificial knee joint is made of bio-inert materials connected to the bone with a specialized cement.
